How does Sunny Coast Driving School cater for nervous learner drivers?
As soon as possible after they attain their learner’s permit. Getting in early with professional driving instruction from Sunny Coast Driving School will stop your child developing bad driving habits that can cause them to fail the Licence test. Also, our professional driving instructors are trained to spot possible incidents from further away and can instruct your child to avoid them before a collision occurs.
How many driving lessons will I need before I get my licence?
Sunny Coast Driving School recognizes that everyone learns at a different pace. Some people may only need a few driving lessons and others require more. It also depends on the frequency of your driving lessons and previous experience. We at Sunny Coast Driving School suggest no matter which driving school you choose, have one or two lessons and then ask your instructor to give you an approximate estimate.
Do you just train Learner drivers?
No. Sunny Coast Driving School offers driving tuition to a number of other drivers
- Preparatory training for senior drivers entering the re-testing phase beyond 85 years of age
- General driving assessments for licensed drivers looking for an objective assessment of their driving competence
- Learners learning later in life. It is not uncommon to start to learn in your 30s, 40s, 50s or even later. Our approach in flexible to learners of all ages.
- Overseas licence holders wanting to obtain an Australian licence
How can I get a Learner Permit in Sunshine Coast?
You will need to hold a learner’s licence or a driver’s licence before you book your lesson with Sunny Coast Driving School. Information on getting your Learner’s Permit from your local Motor Vehicle Registry can be found on our Learner’s Licence Information Page.
Where will my driving lessons take place?
Once you book your driving lesson, your Sunny Coast Driving School instructor will pick you up at your chosen location. This can be your home address, your work, school or other location within Sunshine Coast. Your lesson will take place within Darwin and you will be dropped off at the end of your lesson at your chosen location. Please remember to specify your pickup and drop off location to your instructor when booking your driving lessons as this will help to maintain their schedule.
When Should I book driving lessons for my son/daughter?

Can my child be picked up from school and dropped off at home when finished?
Yes. If you book a lesson with Sunny Coast Driving school we can pick your child up from school and drop them home when finished. Please specify this when booking a driving lesson for your child.
Should I give driving instruction to my child in our car when they are not receiving private lessons?
Yes if possible, without contradicting what they have learned. The road rules change regularly, as do the performance and handling techniques for cars. Our driving instructors are always up-to-date with the latest changes and are aware of what driving test instructors are looking for. The level of support provided in the way of home practice and supervising driver involvement in the learning process will be instrumental to your child’s rate of progress.
